National Fund for Municipal Workers

2020 Trustee elections: The results are in!

Good day,
We trust that you are all keeping well.
As you are aware, the National Fund for Municipal Workers conducted trustee elections to fill seven vacancies on the Board of Trustees. There were two vacancies in Gauteng, one in Limpopo, two in the Cape region, one in Mpumalanga and one in the Free State/KwaZulu-Natal/North West region.
The election process was conducted from July to October 2020 and communicated using various mediums which included postal services, electronic mailers, the fund’s website and social media pages as well as SMS-communication. This ensured that the communication reached as much as possible of the fund’s membership during the COVID-19 lockdown and restrictions.

The nomination process for members to nominate candidates closed on 14 August 2020 and the closing date for members to cast their votes for the candidates in the respective provinces, where voting was required, was on 9 October 2020.
The votes cast were validated for legitimacy, duplicates removed, spoilt votes removed, weighted according to the Rules of the Fund and finally counted. The following candidates emerged as elected Trustees in the 2020 trustee election process and will assume office on 1 November 2020.
